You'll travel from London on the Eurostar to Paris, arriving approximately 10:00 am. There, you will enjoy a hop-on-hop-off tour to the most popular sites in the City of Lights. Set your own pace and visit the Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral on the banks of the River Seine, and the Louvre. Paris also offers many more famous monuments, museums and galleries, the chance for an outstanding dining experience, and excellent boutique shopping. Return on the Eurostar through the Channel Tunnel that same evening. Choice of Standard Class or Standard Premier Class on the train.

Departing London:

You must check in at 5:30 am for your departure on the Eurostar from St. Pancras International Station in London: 6:30 am (6:27 am on Saturdays).

PLEASE NOTE:
On the following dates, the train to Paris will depart from St. Pancras at 8:26 am, reaching Paris at 11:47 am. The departure time from Paris will remain the same, at 10:13 pm. The meeting time at St. Pancras will be at 7:00 am. Pre-booked private transfer cars will be arranged for pick-up at the hotel between 6:15 am - 6:45 am.

Paris:

You will take the Open Top Bus Tour to see the Champs-Elysées, bounded by the Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde. Consider taking the lift up the Eiff­el Tower for truly spectacular views of Paris. Or, you might visit Notre-Dame, "Our Lady of Paris," on the banks of the River Seine. Many of our guests take time to visit the world's greatest art gallery, the Louvre - home to the Mona Lisa. No entrance tickets to these attractions are included in the ticket price of this tour.

You should arrive at the Eurostar check-in on the upper level of the Gare du Nord station at least 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time for your return trip to London.

The Eurostar:

The journey between London and Paris takes less than three hours, passing en route through the 31-mile-long Channel Tunnel.

The idea of a road tunnel between England and France was first suggested to Napoleon in 1802. It was not until nearly two centuries later that the dream became reality when digging began on the Channel Tunnel or "Chunnel" as it was known in its construction period. The $15 billion link, one of Europe's biggest infrastructure projects to date, was officially opened by President Mitterand of France and HRH Queen Elizabeth II of England, in 1994.

The tunnel consists of 3 interconnected tubes: 1 rail track each way plus 1 service tunnel. Its length is 31 miles, of which 23 miles are underwater. Its average depth is 150 feet under the seabed.

The American Society of Civil Engineers has declared the tunnel to be one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. 95 miles of tunnels were dug by a workforce of nearly 13,000. The volume of rubble removed from the tunnel is three times greater than that of the Cheops Pyramid in Egypt. Its length is 31 miles, of which 23 miles are underwater. Only 20 minutes of the Eurostar journey takes place in the tunnel.
